Steps of Faith into Leadership

Students from Morehead State University have been all over the world offering their summer to God. Oh wow, has God honored their willingness to "Go." Students are growing confident in their faith and building stronger relationships with God and others.

One of these students, Leo, is a rising sophomore returning to Morehead State University. He went on the Guy’s Biblical Manhood Summit, which is a 2 week long retreat in North Carolina. The trip allowed them to biblically dive into different issues facing college guys such as relationships with parents, fears guys face, finances, owning different areas of our lives, men and ministry, relationships, leadership, courage, purity, and many more.

"This summer has been a tremendous growing experience. It started with me going to a men's leadership retreat with Cru, in which I learned about what biblical masculinity looks like and how we as men can strive towards it, my limits were pushed, and a brotherly bond was formed among all the guys on the trip unlike anything else.

Since the momentum at the start of the summer, the Lord has provided me with a lot of time to get to know him better, as I was fairly isolated doing farm work in rock castle county. This includes a devotional every day, rereading some of the books given on the leadership trip, podcasts, studying apologetics, going to a lot of different churches all over Kentucky and the Country, as well as making friends at a church in London, KY.

The Lord has fed me tremendously in mind, body, and spirit this summer, my faith has never been strong, and to consider I came to college a year ago selling drugs and sleeping around. The Lord has transformed me, Hallelujah!" -Leo

Its encouraging to see students, like Leo, take steps of faith and to hear how God moves to completely transform their lives. Over the years, the Cru movement at Morehead had seen a smaller number of men compared to the women. This past year, the number of young men in the movement has grown exponentially. This fall will be an exciting time for the already growing men's movement here at MSU. I have no doubt that Leo will play an integral part in leading others in this flourishing movement.

Continue to pray for Leo and the other student leaders as they come back in the fall ready to engage with one of the largest freshman class Morehead State University has ever seen.
